Arduino Shield ListArduino Shield ListArduino Shield List

[Arduino Shield List] published an updated list of ALL Arduino shields. From the Ethernet Shield (this links to the new one with Micro SD support, Mega compatible) to the more exotic ones.

Sick of trying to figure out which pins are used by some obscure Arduino shield? Can’t tell whether two shields will be compatible with each other?

This shield database arose out of a discussion on the Arduino Forums about the need for a comprehensive online reference for shield pin assignments. It lists as many Arduino shields as I can find along with their pin usage, making it easy for you to determine if particular shields are compatible.

Once again, a community effort makes our life easier. Bookmarked. Thanks Jonathan.

it’s more of a shield maker list. This makes it convenient to find info about a shield you’ve purchased.

But what if you haven’t bought a shield? let’s say you want a shield that will play back audio to a speaker. You would have to click on each maker and search manually to find all the shields that play audio.

If it were a real list of shields, this would be a lot easier.

    well.
Just search “audio” in the “search”. And you have all the related shieds.
    I find this very useful.

    thanks for comment!

Could you actually stack up a bunch of shields like that? I bet you would run out of I/O ports really quick unless you used some sort of addressing like on a PCI bus.

  4. Jonathan Oxer Says:

@Azega: it’s certainly possible. Many shields only use a couple of I/O lines, and using SPI or I2C or similar you can have many shields on the same bus.
