Furthering our aim of empowering students around the globe on their STEAM learning journey, we are delighted to announce that Arduino Education is now an official sponsor of the 2022 WRO season.
What is the WRO?
The WRO, or World Robot Olympiad, is a global robotics competition and STEM skills programme.
It’s a fantastic way to help young people to develop the passion and skills in STEAM, computing, and robotics that the economy needs, and will support them in shaping their future as problem-solvers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
Arduino Education & the WRO
As an official sponsor of the 2022 season, Arduino Education will be offering tutorials, forums, virtual testing and training environments, and guidance on how to use Arduino products for support in the various competition categories and also for school curriculum requirements.
We specifically believe that we can be of valuable support in the categories of Future Innovators and Future Engineers.
- Future Innovators is a project-based competition where competitors aged eight to 19 create innovative, intelligent, robotics-based solutions based on the annual theme and are judged on robotics, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Future Engineers is a new category that will see 35 countries taking part in 2022. Students aged 14-19 will learn about the engineering workflow while creating a robotics solution based on a real-world problem.
Lotte Andersen, Arduino Education Business Unit Lead, says: “It’s really exciting to support students around the world on their STEAM learning journey by establishing this partnership with WRO. For us, it’s all about a way to help empower young people to shape their future.”
The synergy of the values and ethos of the WRO and Arduino Education mean that together, we will help students from middle school to university to expand their STEAM learning horizons, as well as improve important future skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving.
